Classical Soprano singer cum songwriter
Abiodun Koya, is a Nigerian-born US based classical Soprano singer cum songwriter and also an Actor. Abby was born to a family of five in a small town in Ogun state, south-west part of Nigeria. History has it that she started her music career at tender age of six by playing violin and singing at church and birthday events. This she does under the mentoring hands of her parents. From that period, she has grown up to be one of the very few African women who sing opera and versatile in Genres such as: Jazz, Oldies, Broadway and Gospel.
She has spent most of her formative year abroad and warmed herself into the minds of her US and Asia based fans with her Opera/classical style of music.

Abiodun is also a poet, composer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and loves recording movie soundtracks. Writing story lines for plays and comedies is also what people known her for. In her spare time, she holds master classes for choirs and college students. She also put herself online for musical workshops, and empowerment programs for youth.
Abby, as fondly called, has sung for caliber of people. Her career profile include an invitation to a black history month performance at the White House. She has also performed for numerous world leaders including Presidents, Royal Kings and Queens, Ambassadors, governors, less privileged children, and Congress members to mention a few. Abby was part of the feature in the Americolor Opera Alliance’s presentation of LaRoche. LaRoche is an original opera about the only black male passenger on the ill-fated Titanic, where she assumed the role of “Madam Mae/Top Lady.”

She holds a B.A. in Business Management and devotes her time and resources to her charity foundation, the Courtesy Foundation, which raises scholarship funds for girl orphans in Africa. Abby do use her musical platform to shed light on issues that are affecting African children and women.

Abby has created two ground breaking experiential concerts. One is the Future Symphony (A Sci-Fi Opera Concert). The second is the Frankincense Concert (A black Tie- Christmas Dinner Concert). Frankincense Concert is a fusion of good music fragrance and elegant music with sole mean to entertain. The Concert was said to be an exclusive premium lifestyle concert that was designed to showcase art music performances. It will also showcase an interpretation of the Nigerian beautiful culture with a classical expression in the Yuletide season. She delivered Frankincense Concert, the ultimate Christmas concert, experience to music lovers in Lagos in December 2018.

Today, Abby has established herself as a musical artist with purpose, passion and illustrious voice that is powerful and inspiring. Abiodun Koya keep broadening her talents as an Actress, Songwriter Entrepreneur and a Published Poet. Abby also builds bridges through mentor-ship, charity works and a strong dedication to the arts. She is the founder of the Abiodun Koya Foundation, a charity organization. The foundation provides scholarships to underprivileged children and teaches “Music Literacy Programs” in Nigeria and parts of Africa. Abby’s efforts are to purposefully and creatively display a positive message and influence for diverse cultures across America, Africa and the rest of the world.
