Who Wrote All Creatures of Our God and King lyrics?
St. Francis of Assisi wrote the original lyrics of the hymn “All Creatures of Our God and King” in 1225. He based it on his Canticle of the Sun poem, which came from Psalm 148.
St. Francis of Assisi was a renowned Italian Catholic friar and preacher born in Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone in the late 12th century.
He is a founder of the Franciscan Order and widely known for his devout faith, love for nature, and dedication to a life of poverty and simplicity.
